Port Blair: Mystery shrouds the death of a 23-year-old youth whose body was found under suspicious circumstances at Dashrathpur village in Middle Andaman, triggering concern among residents and prompting the bereaved family to demand a thorough and impartial investigation.
The deceased has been identified as Vishal Kumar Biswas (23), a resident of Koranga Nallah, Billiground. His body was recovered on July 16 after police received information about the incident.
A police team rushed to the spot, took custody of the body and completed the necessary legal formalities before sending it for post-mortem examination. Investigators have begun probing the circumstances surrounding the death but have refrained from commenting on the cause, stating that conclusions will be drawn only after the post-mortem and forensic reports are received.
Meanwhile, Vishal’s family has strongly rejected any suggestion that he died by suicide, claiming that several unanswered questions surround the circumstances in which his body was found. They have urged the administration to ensure a fair, transparent and comprehensive investigation to establish the truth behind the young man’s untimely death.
