Port Blair (Sri Vijaya Puram): The Crime and Economic Offences Police have called upon investors and alleged victims of QNET and Vihaan Direct Selling (India) Pvt. Ltd. across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands to come forward with details of their investments, as an investigation into an alleged money circulation and financial fraud gathers momentum.
An FIR (No. 73/2026), registered on October 14 at Police Station Crime and Economic Offences, Sri Vijaya Puram, under Sections 318(4) and 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, read with Sections 3, 4, 5 and 6 of the Prize Chits and Money Circulation Schemes (Banning) Act, 1978, is currently under investigation.
According to the police, preliminary findings have brought to light allegations that representatives associated with QNET/Vihaan lured people into joining their business schemes by promising regular weekly income, commissions and lucrative returns. Prospective members were allegedly persuaded to purchase products and recruit additional members in anticipation of monetary benefits. Some investors reportedly parted with amounts as high as ₹3.50 lakh. Promotional meetings were allegedly organised at hotels and other locations in Sri Vijaya Puram and adjoining areas.
However, several investors have reportedly failed to receive the promised returns and are facing difficulties in securing refunds. Police apprehend that the number of affected persons could be substantially higher than those who have so far approached the authorities.
In a bid to ascertain the full extent of the alleged financial irregularities, identify other persons involved and trace the flow of funds, the investigating agency has appealed to all investors, victims and persons possessing relevant information to appear before the Investigating Officer at the Police Station Crime and Economic Offences, CID Office, opposite Police Gurudwara, Sri Vijaya Puram, from November 4 to 20, between 9.30 am and 5.30 pm.
Those coming forward have been requested to furnish details of their investments along with Fund Receipt Certificates/Bonds issued by Vihaan Direct Selling (India) Pvt. Ltd., bank statements, payment receipts, transaction records, communications and other supporting documents.
The police have urged all concerned to cooperate with the investigation, stressing that their inputs could help establish the scale of the alleged fraud, identify other victims and persons involved, and facilitate the tracing of funds. Investors and informants may contact Assistant Sub-Inspector Mohd. Rafique, Investigating Officer (Mobile: 9476092160), or Inspector D. Jagidhswar Rao, SHO, Police Station Crime and Economic Offences, CID, Sri Vijaya Puram (Mobile: 9474290250).
