Port Blair(Sri Vijaya Puram): Patients visiting G.B. Pant Hospital, ANIIMS, can now book their OPD appointments online through the Government of India’s Online Registration System (ORS) portal, a move aimed at making hospital registration more convenient and reducing avoidable queues at registration counters. The Andaman & Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences (ANIIMS) has informed the public that, initially, 10 online appointment slots will be available for each department.
The ORS is a Digital India initiative integrated with the Government’s eHospital platform. Developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), the system enables patients to register online, schedule OPD appointments and manage their hospital visits in advance. Under the new facility, patients can book an appointment before coming to the hospital, thereby avoiding a separate visit merely for OPD registration and potentially reducing waiting time at the registration counters.
To avail the facility, patients can access the official ORS portal at ORS Portal� and complete the required patient-verification process. They can then select G.B. Pant Hospital, ANIIMS, Sri Vijaya Puram, choose the concerned OPD or department, and select an available date and appointment slot.
Patients have been advised to carefully check the appointment details and retain the confirmation or SMS generated through the ORS portal for reference. On the scheduled date, patients must report to OPD Registration Counter No. 1/ORS Counter at G.B. Pant Hospital for confirmation of the appointment. They will be required to produce the appointment number or confirmation received through the ORS portal/SMS.
The online system is expected to streamline OPD registration while giving patients greater certainty about their appointment before reaching the hospital.
