New LG calls on President Murmu, reaffirms Commitment to Island Development

Port Blair/New Delhi : Lieutenant Governor of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Dr. Dinesh Sharma, on Monday paid a courtesy call on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan, marking his first meeting with the President after assuming charge as the Union Territory’s Lieutenant Governor. During the meeting, Dr. Sharma expressed his gratitude to the President and reaffirmed his commitment to discharging his responsibilities with dedication and sincerity.

The Lieutenant Governor assured that he would work with utmost commitment towards the all-round development and progress of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, with a focus on the welfare and interests of the people. The meeting assumes significance as Dr. Sharma has recently taken charge as the UT’s 14th Lieutenant Governor, succeeding Admiral D.K. Joshi (Retd.).
