Port Blair(Sri Vijaya Puram): Development projects and public concerns took centre stage as newly appointed Lieutenant Governor Dr. Dinesh Sharma began his first full day in office, reviewing major ongoing projects and holding a one-to-one meeting with Islands MP Bishnu Pada Ray. On his first day after assuming charge as Lieutenant Governor of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Dr. Sharma reviewed a presentation by the A&N Administration on major developmental projects currently under implementation across the Islands.
Chief Secretary Gyanesh Bharti, DGP Ravindra Singh Yadav, PCCF Sanjay Kumar Sinha, Commissioner-cum-Secretary Dr. Sachin Shinde, and other senior officers attended the review.
Meanwhile, Dr. Sharma invited Islands MP Bishnu Pada Ray for a one-to-one interaction at Lok Niwas, signalling an early engagement with issues concerning the Union Territory. During the meeting, the MP apprised the Lieutenant Governor of several matters of public importance and shared his views on issues requiring attention.
Describing the interaction as cordial, constructive and meaningful, Ray thanked the Lieutenant Governor for the gesture and for sparing valuable time to discuss the concerns of the Islands.
