Port Blai(Sri Vijaya Puram): Students in 100 Government schools across nine educational zones of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands are set to receive online academic mentoring and enhanced learning support under a new collaboration between the Directorate of Education, A&N Administration, and IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation, IIT Madras.
The two institutions exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today to strengthen school education through technology-enabled academic support, teacher mentoring and innovative learning initiatives.
The MoU was exchanged by Director (Education), A&N Administration, Aditya Sangotra, and Chief Technology Officer (CTO), IITM Pravartak, Mohan Satyaranjan.
The collaboration will leverage the academic and technological expertise of IIT Madras and its partner initiatives to improve learning opportunities for students and provide professional support to teachers, particularly in Mathematics and Science for Classes VI to VIII.
Under the Vidya Shakti initiative, online academic mentoring and quality learning support will be extended to students across the selected Government schools.
The initiative seeks to bridge geographical barriers, expand access to academic resources and strengthen classroom-level learning outcomes through technology.
For the Islands, where geographical distances often limit access to specialised academic support, the partnership is aimed at bringing quality learning assistance closer to students and teachers.
