Kadamtala: The Congress has begun sharpening its grassroots machinery in the Kadamtala area ahead of the forthcoming Panchayat elections, with party leaders and workers being urged to intensify their outreach and reconnect with people at the village and booth levels. G. Bhasker, Chairman of the Campaign Committee of the Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC), held an organisational meeting with Congress leaders and PRI members from the Kadamtala and Uttara Panchayats to review the party’s grassroots preparedness and chart out a strategy for the upcoming electoral battle.
The meeting focused on strengthening the party’s organisational network from the grassroots upwards, with special emphasis on reinforcing unit- and booth-level structures. Addressing the gathering, Bhasker underlined the importance of sustained engagement with villagers and urged party leaders and workers to remain in regular touch with the people. He stressed that understanding the day-to-day concerns, aspirations and problems of local residents was essential for building a stronger and more responsive organisation capable of effectively representing the voice of the people.
With the Panchayat elections drawing closer, the discussions reflected the Congress’s renewed thrust on grassroots mobilisation and organisational consolidation in the rural areas of the Islands. The meeting was attended by Sapan Roy, former Panchayat Samiti Member, Kadamtala; Prakash Mondal, Pradhan, Uttara; besides several other Congress leaders and party workers.
