Srijan 2026 ignites innovation spirit among DBRAIT students

Port Blair (Sri Vijaya Puram): Nearly 300 budding engineers turned ideas into innovation as Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT) hosted its two-day techno festival, ‘Srijan 2026’, bringing together young minds for a vibrant showcase of technology, creativity and problem-solving. Held here recently, the festival witnessed enthusiastic participation from 292 students from the institute’s Degree and Diploma programmes. A total of 12 competitions, organised by different departments, challenged students to demonstrate technical skills, innovation and teamwork across a range of disciplines.

From creative solutions to practical applications of technology, the event provided a platform for interdisciplinary learning, healthy competition and exchange of ideas among aspiring engineers.

The festival was aimed at fostering innovation, technical knowledge, creativity, analytical thinking and collaborative learning, while encouraging students to develop industry-oriented skills.

Addressing the participants, DBRAIT Principal Prof. (Dr.) Sanmukh Kaur underscored the importance of such technical activities in shaping well-rounded professionals. She said techno-cultural platforms not only strengthen students’ technical competencies but also improve communication skills, confidence and teamwork — qualities increasingly valued in industry and essential for successful campus placements.

‘Srijan 2026’ concluded with students and faculty reaffirming the importance of innovation-driven learning in preparing the Islands’ youth for emerging opportunities in technology and engineering.
