Mayabunder: For residents of Mayabunder struggling with inadequate local transport, particularly senior citizens and patients, relief is finally set to arrive on wheels.

The State Transport Service (STS) has introduced a new shuttle bus service on Route No. 11 from September 1, 2026, connecting Mayabunder with the DC Office via R.P. Hospital. The much-needed service has been introduced following a long-pending demand for better local public transport connectivity in the region. It is expected to benefit senior citizens, patients, office-goers and members of the general public travelling to key public facilities.

According to an information, the shuttle will operate on a temporary schedule during both morning and evening hours. In the morning, buses will leave Mayabunder at 9 AM, 10 AM and 11 AM, while return services from the DC Office will operate at 9:30 AM, 10:30 AM and 11:30 AM. Evening services from Mayabunder will depart at 2:30 PM, 3:30 PM and 4:30 PM, with return trips from the DC Office scheduled at 3 PM, 4 PM and 5:15 PM.
