Port Blair, June 30: Victims of the tragic Rangat bus accident were brought to G.B. Pant Hospital here at around 6.30 p.m. in four ambulances after being evacuated from Rangat in a coordinated rescue operation. Chairman of the Campaign Committee of the Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC),
G Bhasker, visited the hospital along with his team to meet the injured, interact with their family members and review their condition with the attending doctors.
Bhasker praised the Andaman & Nicobar Administration, doctors, medical personnel and all officials involved in the rescue effort for their prompt and coordinated response. He particularly appreciated the rapid evacuation of the injured by boat from Rangat, the seamless ambulance transfer from the jetty to G.B. Pant Hospital and the hospital’s preparedness to handle the emergency with adequate medical staff, wheelchairs, stretchers and other support facilities.
Describing the response as timely and efficient, Bhasker said the coordinated efforts of all agencies ensured that the injured received immediate medical attention. He expressed solidarity with the affected families and prayed for the speedy recovery of those undergoing treatment.
