Port Blair/Delhi: The ongoing nationwide outrage over the alleged NEET-UG and CBSE examination paper leaks has found support from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, with senior Congress leader G. Bhasker, Chairman of the Campaign Committee of the Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC), joining protesting students at New Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. Expressing solidarity with agitating students and youth, Bhasker said the ANTCC stands firmly with aspirants demanding justice, transparency and equal opportunity in the country’s competitive examination system.

Bhasker also endorsed the protesters’ demand seeking the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan over the controversy. The protests at Jantar Mantar have centred on allegations of irregularities in the NEET-UG examination and demands for greater accountability in the conduct of national-level entrance tests. The issue has also resonated among students and parents in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, where many NEET aspirants voiced concern that repeated controversies surrounding national entrance examinations undermine confidence in the system. Several students said years of hard work should not be jeopardised by alleged leaks or administrative lapses, while parents called for a transparent investigation and stringent action against those responsible.

Although no organised protest has been reported from the Islands, many aspirants have expressed support for demands aimed at safeguarding the credibility of competitive examinations. Bhasker said the future of lakhs of students must not be compromised and urged the Union Government to restore public faith by ensuring a fair, transparent and accountable examination process. He maintained that every deserving student should have an equal opportunity to compete on merit.
