Port Blair(Sri Vijaya Puram): The controversy over the physical test for police recruitment in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands has taken a fresh turn, with hundreds of aspiring candidates alleging discrepancies in the conduct of the high jump event and seeking a fair review of the process. G. Bhasker, Chairman, Campaign Committee of the Andaman and Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC), on Monday visited Netaji Stadium and met the aggrieved candidates to hear their complaints. The aspirants reportedly raised concerns over the manner in which the high jump exercise was conducted during the recruitment test.

Bhasker also interacted with police officials present at the stadium and discussed the issues being raised by the candidates. However, with no immediate resolution emerging from the discussions, he assured the youths of his support and indicated that the matter would now be taken up before the Court of Law.

The development has added a legal dimension to the growing concerns among police recruitment aspirants, who are demanding transparency and fairness in the physical selection process. The candidates have been seeking clarity on the alleged discrepancies and appropriate remedial measures to ensure that eligible aspirants are not disadvantaged.
