Camp Court clears 91 land diversion cases, boosts drive to cut revenue pendency

Port Blair: Taking a decisive step to fast-track long-pending land diversion matters and ensure quicker public service delivery, the South Andaman District Administration has intensified its field-level efforts by disposing of 91 cases through a special Camp Court held at Prothrapur in the suburbs of Sri Vijay Puram. The Camp Court, organised at the Community Hall, Prothrapur on Friday, was chaired by Kamaleshwar Rao S., Assistant Commissioner, South Andaman, as part of a focused initiative to expedite the disposal of pending land diversion cases relating to Sri Vijaya Puram Tehsil.The field-level initiative was aimed at ensuring the expeditious disposal of long-pending cases, making the process more transparent, accessible and citizen-friendly while providing timely redressal of public grievances. A large number of applicants attended the Camp Court, where 91 land diversion cases were heard and disposed of in accordance with the relevant rules and regulations.Officials said the initiative has substantially reduced the backlog of pending cases, streamlined the decision-making process and provided timely relief to applicants. The exercise also underscores the District Administration’s commitment to citizen-centric governance by taking essential revenue services closer to the people instead of requiring repeated visits to government offices.The South Andaman District Administration has decided to continue organising similar Camp Courts and outreach programmes at regular intervals to ensure the speedy disposal of pending land diversion and other revenue-related matters, improve administrative accessibility and further strengthen efficient public service delivery at the grassroots level.
