Diglipur: Bringing governance closer to the people, the North & Middle Andaman District Administration organized a Public Grievance Redressal Programme and Revenue Camp Court at Diglipur on Friday under its outreach initiative, ‘Sampark se Samadhan – Prashasan Gaon ki Ore’, enabling residents to raise civic issues directly before senior officials while securing on-the-spot disposal of several revenue matters.
The programme, held at the Multipurpose Hall, was chaired by Sushant Padha, Deputy Commissioner, North & Middle Andaman, and attended by Santosh Prakash, Assistant Commissioner, Diglipur, Heads of Departments, officials of the District Administration, representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and members of the public.
During the interactive session, the Deputy Commissioner heard grievances concerning various Government departments and directed the concerned officials to initiate prompt action for their early resolution. Several revenue cases, including land subdivision, mutation, land diversion and correction of entries in revenue records, were also taken up and disposed of at the camp itself, providing quicker and hassle-free services to the public.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner reaffirmed the Administration’s commitment to transparent, accountable and people-centric governance. He stressed the need for coordinated action by all departments, timely disposal of grievances and regular engagement with local communities to ensure efficient delivery of Government services at the grassroots level.
The District Administration said such outreach programmes will continue to be held across North & Middle Andaman to make Government services more accessible and ensure faster, transparent and effective redressal of public grievances.
